Our Honey Lebkuchen is our signature House Lebkuchen that forms the basis of all our specialities. Metzger Lebkuchen is Viennese gingerbread with a soft texture and subtle taste. The honey dough is refined with spices, topped with almonds and glazed with sugar after baking. House Lebkuchen is a true Viennese staple at the coffee table.
The original Metzger honey dough is baked exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year to mature. The final dough is then blended with our secret spice mix and baked to perfection, free of eggs or preservatives.
The longevity of Metzger Lebkuchen is due to the pure honey in our dough. If the Lebkuchen turns dry, granny Metzger recommends to put it in a tin with a sliced apple, overnight.
