The chocolate is made with cocoa butter and refined with natural Bourbon vanilla, free of external fats. Our Lebkuchen is free of eggs or preservatives, and the jelly is made with agar, a vegetable based gelling agent.
The original Metzger honey dough is baked exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year to mature. The final dough is then blended with our secret spice mix and baked to perfection, free of eggs and preservatives.
The longevity of Metzger Lebkuchen is due to the pure honey in our dough. If the Lebkuchen turns dry, granny Metzger recommends to put it in a tin with a sliced apple, overnight.
